Let's chat....
At No Strings โ Bendigo Dress Hire, I believe everyone deserves to feel confident and stylishโwithout the pressure of buying something youโll only wear once.
Based right here in Bendigo, No Strings is a locally owned and operated dress hire business offering designer fashion at a fraction of the retail price.
Whether itโs a last-minute formal, milestone birthday, maternity shoot, or race day glamโweโve got something for every moment.
Our collection includes sizes 4โ16, with styles suited to all body types, including options for fuller busts and bump-friendly fits.
Youโll find iconic brands like AJE, Alemais, Zimmermann, Rebecca Vallance, and even some harder-to-find gems like V. Chapman.
I know firsthand how hard it can be to find the right dress in Bendigoโthatโs why Iโve made it easy to rent locally from our studio or have it sent straight to your door.
Hiring a dress shouldnโt be stressful.
We keep it realโno jargon, no pressure, and definitely No Strings.
Got a question? Iโm always happy to help you find the perfect fit for your next event.
So, who am I?
Hi, Iโm Jo โ a proud Bendigo local of over 30 years. I love our town: the people, the culture, the food (and coffee!), and that strong sense of community.
It has everything my family and I need, and itโs the place Iโm proud to call home.
Dress hire and styling is my full-time jobโthough it never really feels like work. Iโm a qualified stylist through the Australian Style Institute and currently finishing my Masters in Styling. Helping people feel confident in what they wear is what I do best.
Iโm also a busy mum to daughters, a fashion lover (even if Iโm usually in activewear), and when I get the chance attending the Races to watch my horses.
What matters most to me? Being real. I pride myself on being approachable and honestโif something doesnโt suit you, Iโll let you know. No pressure, no fluffโjust genuine advice and great style, without the strings.

And why dress hire you ask?
Like many of you, I had a wardrobe full of beautiful dressesโworn once, then left hanging, never to be worn again. I couldnโt bring myself to sell them for next to nothing (even though they looked great just hanging there!).
At the same time, I found it really hard to find well-fitting, stylish dresses locally in Bendigo.
Soโwith what little spare time I hadโNo Strings Dress Hire began as a hobby from my bedroom in 2022. What started small quickly grew, and today itโs my full-time job and bacame a proper 'business' in late 2023 in with a shopfront right here in Bendigo opening in September 2024. Check the shop hours here.
I love what I do, and I feel so lucky to help others feel confident and amazing in something beautifulโwithout the pressure of buying it outright.
What I love about it....
This oneโs easy!
Dressing real people in gorgeous dresses and making them feel beautiful truly makes my day. Helping someone step outside their comfort zone and try something new with fashionโthat gets me excited.
Thereโs no better feeling than when someone comes in saying they "just canโt find anything for their body," but walks out glowing with confidence, ready for their event.
And honestly? I still get a little thrill every time I look at the rainbow of 500+ dresses hanging in the shop. It never gets old.
